Oura Swaps Metal for Ceramic with Its New Ring 4 Ceramic Collection
While it doesn’t add new health tracking tools, the update brings better battery-related perks, enhanced quality, and some eye-catching new color options.
Oura has launched a fresh version of its smart health wearable: the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic. Drawing inspiration from classic ceramic textures and natural hues, the new ring comes in four distinct shades—Cloud, Tide, Petal, and Midnight. It retains most of the Oura Ring 4’s core technology, including adaptive smart sensing, tracking for over 50 health metrics, and a battery life that lasts 5 to 8 days.

Alongside the ring’s release, Oura is rolling out a portable USB-C charging case that holds up to five full charges. There’s also a new feature letting users switch seamlessly between multiple Oura Rings on one account—this starts with iOS first, and Android support will expand later this month.
Ring 4 Ceramic Works the Same, But Feels Better
The Oura Ring 4 first hit shelves in 2024, so it’s still a relatively new product on the market. It delivers nonstop health tracking across over 50 metrics, covering sleep stages, readiness scores, heart rate, activity levels, stress insights, and women’s health tools like menstrual cycle prediction.

Oura’s update here is mostly a style refresh plus some new ecosystem benefits. The Ring 4 Ceramic Collection marks the brand’s first non-metallic lineup, crafted from zirconia ceramic. Up until now, Oura relied on titanium—leaning on its strength to give rings both durability and a high-end look.
But zirconia brings key advantages: it’s scratch-resistant, and its color stays consistent throughout the material. If the ring gets scuffed, it won’t reveal a different base metal underneath, and its finish should hold up longer.

What’s more, it feels warmer and more natural against your skin—even though it’s about half a millimeter thicker. The original Oura Ring 4 is roughly 2.88 mm thick, while the new ceramic model comes in at around 3.51 mm. It still keeps its water resistance (up to 100 meters, or 328 feet), so your swimming sessions won’t be interrupted.
Four Striking New Colors and Improved Battery Perks
As mentioned earlier, the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic now comes in four eye-catching shades: Cloud, Tide, Petal, and Midnight. It also pairs with Oura’s first-ever charging case, which stores five full charges via USB-C. Since the ring typically lasts 5 to 8 days per charge, that means you can go well over a month without having to plug the ring itself into a cable.

Oura also added multi-ring support, letting you swap between different Oura Rings on the same account. But maybe the biggest new addition is Health Panels—a tool in the Oura app that integrates lab test results. You can schedule $99 blood tests through Quest Diagnostics, and the results sync directly to the app. There, Oura Advisor helps break down key biomarkers, pairing that data with your sleep, stress, and activity insights.

Pricing and Membership Details
Pricing for the new ceramic collection starts at $499 per ring, and each purchase includes a free sizing kit. As always, you’ll need an Oura Membership to unlock all the dedicated app’s advanced insights, AI-driven guidance, and exclusive features. Subscription costs vary by country—here in the U.S., it’s $6 per month or $70 per year, before taxes.
