Honor’s MagicOS 10 Is Finally Rolling Out
Honor’s MagicOS 10 is launching its broad rollout—and if you own an Honor device, it’s time to keep an eye on your update notifications.
The company officially announced the Android 16-based software rollout, which kicks off later this month with the Magic V5. Next in line are the Magic 7 and 6 series, along with the Honor GT Pro and 400 series. Come November, the update will expand to the Magic V3, Vs3, Magic 5 series, and GT 2 Pro tablet. December will bring MagicOS 10 to the Magic V2 lineup and MagicPad 2, while the final wave—covering older models like the Honor 300, 200, 100, and X-series—wraps up in early 2026. With late October already here, the Magic V5 launch could happen at any moment.

Mixed Reactions from the Honor Community
Over on Reddit’s Honor forums, opinions about the upcoming update are all over the map. Beta testers are voicing complaints about lag, spotty optimization, and customization options that don’t live up to expectations. But it’s not all negative: some early users are raving about improved battery life—with reports of 8 hours of screen time for social media and video calls plus 15 hours of standby—and smoother performance, calling it a “keeper version”. Global users, however, remain frustrated with Honor’s communication, saying they often feel overlooked or stuck waiting for updates that land later than expected.

Honor’s Pitch: A Major AI-Powered Upgrade
The mixed feedback is a bit ironic, since Honor is framing MagicOS 10 as a significant leap forward. The star of the show is the revamped Smart Capsule—think Apple’s Dynamic Island, but with smarter adaptability. It shrinks or expands to show real-time info like food delivery tracking (cutting check time from 8.3 seconds to 0.7 seconds) or music controls, and even moves out of the way during games to avoid accidental taps.
AI is the backbone of most new features. The system gets smarter about resource management—12GB RAM models perform like they have 18GB—and uses scene recognition to tailor experiences. There’s also an edge-side AI security tool that detects deepfakes and synthetic scam calls in real time, with a 99.2% accuracy rate for fraud identification, plus a 15-second cool-down for high-risk transfers. New color schemes and layout tweaks round out the visual updates.

YOYO 2.0 and a Teaser for MagicOS 11
Honor just unveiled MagicOS 10 earlier this month at its 2025 Global Developers Conference (HGDC) in China, where it also detailed big upgrades to its YOYO AI assistant. Now powered by the Doubao large model via ByteDance’s Volcano Engine, YOYO handles over 3,000 automation scenarios with 95% accuracy—including multi-step tasks like planning trips or creating AI-generated images with a single voice command. It even supports video calls: users can hold up produce at the grocery store, and YOYO will help pick a ripe watermelon by analyzing its color and texture.

Under the hood, the new Hummingbird Architecture uses a lightweight kernel to save storage space on budget-friendly models, while the UI gets a “Zero-Gravity Transparent Design” with battery-efficient dynamic wallpapers. Most notably, MagicOS 10 breaks down ecosystem walls: you can tap to transfer apps or iWork files to an iPhone, send animations to a Mac, or sync notifications across iOS, HarmonyOS, and Windows devices.
And Honor isn’t waiting around to hype its next move: the company teased MagicOS 11, which will push toward an “interface-free” experience and might launch alongside a new device in 2026.
