Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 FE Arrive September 5 with AI Upgrades and a Fresh Blade Design

Heads up: these won’t come cheap. If you’re interested, it might be time to start saving.

Earlier this month, Samsung briefly listed the Galaxy Buds 3 FE on its Latin American website before quickly taking it down. Now, the company has made it official: the new earbuds are launching on September 5.

They’ll feature the same striking Blade design as the standard Buds 3, along with upgraded sound and built-in Galaxy AI—though all these improvements come at a steeper price than before. Here’s what you can expect.

A smarter, more intuitive audio experience

The Galaxy Buds 3 FE keep the stem-style silhouette of the premium Buds 3, including semi-transparent accents and pinch-and-swipe controls. The look is unmistakably similar to Apple’s AirPods.

But the real story isn’t how they look—it’s what they can do. Samsung has integrated Galaxy AI directly into the earbuds, effectively turning them into a real-time translator and voice-controlled assistant.

Using wake phrases like “Hey Google,” you can control music, respond to messages, or check your calendar completely hands-free. The idea is to make the Buds feel less like an accessory and more like a natural extension of your phone—or even your own hearing.

Thanks to the Galaxy AI Interpreter feature, you can also use the earbuds to translate live conversations or follow along with lectures in foreign languages. It’s like having a personal interpreter in your ear.

That said, this feature does require a connected Galaxy smartphone and the AI Interpreter app. The earbuds act as a conduit for translated audio, while your phone handles the actual AI processing.

Long battery life and improved sound

Each bud weighs just 8 grams and includes a 50mAh battery offering up to 6 hours of playback with ANC enabled, or around 9 hours without. When you include the 500mAh charging case, total listening time jumps to 30 hours.

The Buds 3 FE support Bluetooth 5.4 with Auto Switch between Galaxy devices, and are compatible with SSC, AAC, and SBC codecs. They also carry an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Audio quality gets a boost from one-way dynamic drivers, which Samsung says deliver deeper bass and crisper highs compared to the original Buds FE.

Another highlight is Crystal Clear Call technology, which uses machine learning to isolate your voice from background noise. The microphones are angled toward your mouth to capture speech more naturally, reducing the need for digital cleanup later.

That means the system can identify unwanted sounds—like honking cars or passing motorcycles—and suppress them in real time during calls.

Pricing and availability

The Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be available globally starting September 5 in Black and Gray color options. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed pricing, rumors suggest around $150—a significant jump from the $100 launch price of the original Buds FE.

Interestingly, the Buds 3 FE will beat Google’s budget-friendly Pixel Buds 2a to market—the latter were recently delayed until October 9.
