Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Leak Reveals Surprising Upgrades

Google may have entered the foldable smartphone market later than most, but it’s quickly catching up. After the rough-around-the-edges Pixel Fold and the refined (though slightly underpowered) Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks set to push boundaries in unexpected ways. Thanks to a leaked spec sheet from Android Headlines, we now have a clearer picture of how Google plans to compete—and even lead—in key areas.

A Stronger, More Polished Foldable

In the U.S., foldable options are still limited. Beyond Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the aging OnePlus Open, Google’s foldables are among the few premium choices available. That’s why the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is generating so much buzz—Google has a real chance to set a new standard.

Display Upgrades

While the inner 8-inch foldable display remains mostly unchanged (with minor quality improvements), the cover screen gets some notable upgrades:

6.4-inch OLED (up from 6.3 inches last year)
3,000-nit peak brightness (300 nits brighter than before)
Thinner bezels for a more modern look

Cameras: A Missed Opportunity?

The camera setup stays largely the same, which may disappoint some fans. While the Pixel 10 Pro Fold keeps last year’s 48MP main sensor, 10.5MP ultrawide, and 10.8MP 5x telephoto, it still lags behind Google’s non-folding Pro models. Both displays will again feature 10MP selfie cameras.

Under the hood, the phone will run on the Tensor G5 chip (manufactured by TSMC) with 16GB of RAM—matching last year’s model. However, storage gets a boost with a new 1TB option.

Dust and Water Resistance: A New Benchmark

One area where the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could dominate is durability. Most foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, only manage an IP48 rating. The recently launched Honor Magic V5 raised the bar with IP58/IP59, but Google may leapfrog them entirely.

Rumors suggest the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will boast an IP68 rating—matching traditional flagship smartphones. This would be a major win for foldables, making the device far more resistant to dust and water—great news for beachgoers and accident-prone users.

Bigger Battery, But No Cutting-Edge Tech

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s battery will grow from 4,650mAh to 5,015mAh—not a massive jump, but enough to make it the largest non-silicon-carbon battery in a foldable. While competitors experiment with next-gen battery materials, Google is squeezing every drop out of conventional tech.
